TODAY WE HAVE A FRESH MULLET, MINNOWS and BLOODWORMS!

The craziness of the summer is over and we got a few days away so now we are ready for the fall run to start. But before that we DO still have ONE more week of fluke fishing until end of day Friday, Sept 25.

The 72nd Annual LBI Surf Fishing Classic started at the end of August and we are seeing many fluke, kingfish and small bluefish weigh-ins. You can win money and prizes on fluke, kingfish, weakfish, red drum, tautog, striped bass and bluefish so don’t wait for the fall fun – Register online at www.lbisfc.com or instore at Jingles Bait & Tackle, Surf City Bait & Tackle or Fisherman’s HQ. With registration you receive a Hat, a decal, and lots of opportunities to win $$ with daily and weekly prizes available.

This week, Pat Conti weighed in a bluefish at 1.65# and 16.5″ caught on a lure and Pat Gallen had a kingfish at .7# and 12.75″ caught using fishbites. Keep in mind there is a “Grand Slam” prize for the angler weighing in the most individual species so all these fish count! Anglers are still catching fluke (gulp or squid), kingfish (bloodworms or fishbites) and bluefish (mullet or lure) off the surf, so take advantage of this beautiful day!

TODAY WE HAVE A MINNOWS and BLOODWORMS!

We have a new lead in the Jingles Store Fluke Tournament with Pat Norton’s doormat – 7.80# and 26 7/8″!! His bait was gulp and he was in the inlet… So that’s the third doormat we have seen that was not even taken out in the ocean! The fluke fishing has still been very active, but you still have to pick through all those shorts to come up with your keepers. On the surf, Jon had another successful morning – again working his way through a bunch of shorts and then coming up with this 20″ keeper! The surf also has kingfish and starting to hear of some bigger bluefish too!.

The 72rd Annual LBI Surf Fishing Classic has started and there are weigh-ins already! Here at Jingles, Derek weighed in a 2.15# and 18.5″ fluke caught off the surf using gulp. You can win money and prizes on fluke, kingfish, weakfish, red drum, tautog, striped bass and bluefish! Register online at www.lbisfc.com or instore at Jingles Bait & Tackle, Surf City Bait & Tackle or Fisherman’s HQ. With registration you receive a Hat, a decal, and lots of opportunities to win $$ with daily and weekly prizes available. Register NOW!

We had our last week of Kids Clinic this week adding another 6 new Janglers to the island. Congratulations to our classes of Monday, August 31st and Wednesday, Sept. 2nd!

The fluke fishing has still been very active, but still with mostly shorts. Don’t get me wrong, anglers are catching keepers but not as many as they would like! We still have one more month for fluke season and we are seeing some bigger fluke being caught. Most of the keepers are coming from the ocean but still hearing a few big ones out back from the crew over at Lindy’s. On the surf, Jon said he was catching 3-7 short fluke each morning and then on Saturday he finally got the 18″ keeper! The surf also has kingfish and starting to hear of some bigger bluefish too!.

TODAY WE HAVE A MINNOWS and BLOODWORMS!

We still have one more month for fluke season and we are hearing of some bigger fluke being caught. The majority are still shorts but some keepers coming in too. Early in the week, Mark Bartlett brought in this nice 3.2# and 20.25″ keeper. I think your best bet is out at the reefs but got word of a nice sized fluke that was just caught out back in the bay. On the surf, there has been a lot of fluke action but again, mostly shorts. Also hearing of more kingfish and anglers are also reporting cocktail blues.

Congratulations to our newest Janglers of the week! Class of Monday, August 24th and class of Wednesday, August 26th!! We have one more week for Kids Clinic classes so register now! Tight lines!

TODAY WE HAVE A MINNOWS and BLOODWORMS!

The bay water is still super warm so head over to the inlet or out to the reefs for fluke fishing. Getting keepers has still been a little tough but anglers are working it and coming home with a couple. Here, some of the Jingles team (Ryan, Dylan and Mason) were out at one of the Garden State reefs an came back with two keeper fluke and a sea bass! Getting reports there are snap blues and of course you can always have some fun with the kids by bouncing some squid off the bottom by the bulkhead – always little blowfish, seabass and more. On the surf, there has been a lot of fluke action but again, mostly shorts and some kingfish and small blues.

And Congratulations to our newest Janglers! Class of Monday, August 17th – Tight lines!
